The Weighbridge is well known for it’s selection of two in one homemade pies. The traditional pie is half steak and half cauliflower cheese. They are simply heavenly and you just have to try them if you are in the Nailsworth area. The pastry just melts in your mouth and when washed down with a local Uley Old Spot ale, we guarantee you will not be disappointed.
This is a public house we first went to over 30 years ago in our teenage years and it still has the same appeal to us now.
Located just 2 miles away from Nailsworth & Avening, it is an old fashioned country pub in it’s style and ambience with roaring log fires, low lighting and candles on the tables.
Personally, the 2 in 1 slow cooked steak & ale & cauliflower cheese pie is my all time favourite but the selection has been expanded and you can also choose from steak & mushroom, chicken, ham & leek, turkey & trimmings, fish, pork apple & cider or a veggie root vegetables & beans option. There is a nice starter menu but to be honest if you opt for a large pie you will struggle fitting in a starter and desert too.
The Weighbridge now also offer a take away home bake service. If you ring and order a pie you can collect and bake it at home. We think this is a nice treat if you have small children and are unable to dine out. If you are planning to visit the Weighbridge Inn to eat there always book in advance. The popularity of this small pub means it is now difficult to pop in on the off chance and get a table.
