SUMMARY:Gloucester Day 2019
DESCRIPTION:Gloucester Day 2019\nGloucester Day is a modern commemoration of the raising of the Siege of Gloucester in on 5th September 1643\, as a result of which the Parliamentarian town became known as “The City Saved by God” ; the event was revived in 2009. As well as the commemoration\, Gloucester Day is intended to celebrate the heritage and history of the city and its culture and there are two parades on the day. The first is the Mock Mayor of Barton’s Parade which includes morris dancers\, a sword bearer and a goat (honest!) who all accompany the Mayor of Barton\, who sometimes uses a rickshaw as his preferred mode of transport. The Gloucester Day Parade in the afternoon contains many of the participants from the earlier procession with the addition of bands\, drums\, historical re-enactors\, a bellman and more. It’s not often you get two parades on the same day in the same city! \nhttps://gloucesterhistoryfestival.co.uk/

SUMMARY:Severn Bore 5 Stars 22/03/2019
DESCRIPTION:Severn Bore – 5 Stars – 22/03/2019\nAfter a year where the River Severn’s famous wave fell flat\, 2019 looks set to be a big year for the Severn Bore.\nThree five-star bores and sixteen four-star bores are predicted for the coming months\, with many taking place during daylight hours. \nFamous across the globe\, the bore surges up the River Severn\, rising to form a wave. A strong bore can reach as far as Tewkesbury Weir.\nPredictions are based around spring tides\, when the height of the tide at Sharpness is approximately 9.5m. A bore can roll in for all tides above eight metres however. \nWhen are the five-star bores? \n\nFriday March 22\, starting at Newnham at 08.46\, reaching Over Bridge by 09.28. Tide height of 10.3 metres.\nSunday September 29\, starting at Newnham at 20.28 and reaching Over Bridge by 22.03. Tide height of 10.3 metres.\nMonday September 30\, starting at Newnham at 21.10 and reaching Over Bridge at 22.45. SUMMARY:Gloucester Day 2018
DESCRIPTION:Gloucester Day 2018\nGloucester Day is a modern commemoration of the raising of the Siege of Gloucester in on 5th September 1643\, as a result of which the Parliamentarian town became known as “The City Saved by God” ; the event was revived in 2009. \nhttps://gloucesterhistoryfestival.co.uk/ \n  \n

SUMMARY:Randwick Wap 2018
DESCRIPTION:Randwick Wap 2018\nThe Randwick Wap is a series of events during spring which culminates in a traditional procession and festival dating back to the Middle Ages. Various theories exist on how it began\, although most villagers believe it was a celebration that followed the completion of building Randwick’s parish church. The Wap was revived by Randwick’s late vicar\, Rev. Nial Morrison\, in 1972 and has steadily grown to become one of the region’s leading annual events. \nIt is a great free afternoon out for families and we have visited on many occasions.  We enjoy the procession in the village and the events on the showground afterwards. \nHere is the website for more details\nhttp://www.randwick.org.uk/Wap/Wap.html \nIf it’s a nice day we highly recommend you go along to this free event.

SUMMARY:Eddie The Eagle Edwards Try Hard Evening
DESCRIPTION:An evening with Eddie the Eagle at Cheltenham Town hall: \n  \nEddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards is a unique British sporting hero with an incredible story to tell. The world’s ninth-fastest amateur downhill speed skier went on to become Great Britain’s first Olympic (self-taught!)
