DESCRIPTION:The Randwick Wap is a series of events during spring which culminates in a traditional procession and festival dating back to the Middle Ages. Various theories exist on how it began\, although most villagers believe it was a celebration that followed the completion of building Randwick’s parish church. The Wap was revived by Randwick’s late vicar\, Rev. DESCRIPTION:Tetbury holds a rather unusual event on the May Bank Holiday. \nLocals arrange themselves into teams of 4 and them into pairs to relay a 60lb woolsack (35lb for the ladies) up and down Gumstool Hill between The Crown and The Royal Oak pubs. The course is 280 yards long up and down a 1 in 4 hill\, so if you want to challenge the mens record of 3.5 minutes off you go! \nThe races are the main attraction of a fun filled fund rasing day including: \n\nAll day street market\nCharity auction\nVillage fete\nStreet entertainers\nFamily entertainment\n\n\nWhere :Tetbury\, Glos.\nDate :Monday 30 May 2016 – Bank Holiday\nTime :Festivities begin at 10am. SUMMARY:Dragon Boat Regatta
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 8 May 2016 the sound and colour of dragon boat racing will once again fill Gloucester’s Historic Docks for the 19th Annual Dragon Boat Regatta. \nThis will also feature a funfair and farmer’s market\, bands and food stalls with a race taking place every 15 minutes as total of 30 teams compete. SUMMARY:Randwick Wap
DESCRIPTION:The Randwick Wap is an ancient procession and festival dating from the Middle Ages. \nThe procession is led by the Mop Man who swishes his mop to clear the crowds. The mayor and Queen are carried shoulder high flanked by flag boys\, cheese bearers and others.The Mayor is dunked in the Mayors Pond and then doused in Spring water. \nThe procession moves on to Well Leaze where two Double Gloucester cheeses are rolled down the hill. The festival follows with music\, dancing and entertainment
